Medieval Week 2022 Fantasy theme
Medieval Week 2022 has the theme Fantasy. We imagine a medieval Visby and Gotland, where the village and river people share the city streets with people and animals. Medieval Week wants to pay tribute to all fantasy geeks, from Tolkien lovers to TV series bingers. We want to promote creativity, creative joy and imagination. We want to talk about folk beliefs, superstition and the magical reality that was taken for granted in the past…
Our Medieval Islands are …
“Medieval islands” – various demarcated areas where you can travel safely in time, meet friends and experience the entire Medieval Week. All our ruins and venues, Our parks and nature areas, Historical Exhibition Camp,The campsite, both modern and historic and more…
The medieval pass gives you…
Access to all “medieval-islands”, possibility to pre-book a seat ticket, and streaming the program. With the pass, you are free to visit all our Medieval Islands during Medieval Week, subject to availability. Seat tickets are sold separately for performances, concerts, lectures, workshops and other program offerings (price varies between free, under one hundred and also exclusive experiences at a higher price level).

ARgh is a project with support from Leader Gute that runs over two years. The aim is to bring to life and draw attention to parts of Gotland’s history with the help of digital technology. The project is carried out in collaboration with Kultur Österbotten in Finland, which contributes a basic structure to an app that will then be used within the project.
